When We Under Value Ourselves

I’ve known for years that I was meant to do more than sit behind a desk doing work that didn’t impact peoples lives. I’ve known that I was meant to do something to aligned with my morals and my passion for the world.

Hind sight is always 20/20. Think about it; look at your past. That old boyfriend (or current), that job, that group of friends, those decisions, you knew deep in your gut that you should have made a different decision, but because you under value yourself…you stayed “comfortable.”

The thing about being comfortable is that it’s temporary. I don’t think that the term “staying in your comfort zone” is really comfortable at all. Because for me, it was anxiety ridden. It’s being stuck in holding. It’s spinning your wheels waiting on circumstances or other people to make you happy or to change your life. But the reality is that no one can bring you that deep longing for happiness you relentlessly search for. It all comes from within. You inner being. The closest part of you that is like Christ. Your heart and soul; the day to day; the over all quality of your life.

Circumstances come and go. People are terrible human beings. Some people just make mistakes. Family members get old and pass. Friends betray each other. SH*T HAPPENS. You cannot depend on anyone to make you happy, because you’re putting them on a pedestal and setting them up to fail. Because it’s not their job.

It is Jesus’ job. You are to bring your burdens to the foot of the cross and lay them down. Dependence on Jesus is what brings us the most joy in our lives. Not just happiness like a night out with friends, a powerful conversation, a surprise from your spouse, an act of kindness. A deep, rich, rooted sense of joy only comes from God The Father.

Stop putting all your eggs in the worldly basket, and go straight to Jesus.

Value yourself and what you have to bring to the world. Think about how much Jesus loves you and how unique He made you, and then tap into that.

Love,

B
