You Are Not The Problem.

You ever just have so much happen in your life that isn’t good and you’re like wait…am I the problem? Like, am I the reason all of this is happening?

The world believe what goes around comes around. But if what came around first wasn’t good, and you’re stuck in a rough patch, how the hell are you supposed to get out of it in order to get some good stuff out?!

I know what they mean by the saying, but I also believe that that’s not necessarily true. I believe that putting good out fills your cup with good because that how God created us. Just last night I was explaining to my 6 year old daughter that happiness is most abundant when we give. Example, I didn’t receive a gift for Christmas from my family. First thing you think: wow, that’s sad. But it’s not. My mom died 5 days before Christmas this year so I had plane travel, lots of emotions, and honestly no Christmas spirit (which I’m basically Santa so this was really a bummer). But to fly home just in time for Christmas morning and see the look on my kiddo’s face really did bring me joy. It made me think “this must have been how my mom felt on Christmas mornings every year.” She was a single mom to 3 kids so you can only imagine the chaos.

Not to mention my husband was and continues to be an absolute saint with patience, emotions, and chores with everything that’s going on and that’s even an understatement. So just as much as I had my hands full 5 days before Christmas with the death of my mother, he also had his hands full with a wife in full on panic and grief.

Moving on, lots of bad things happen in life. YES SOME OF THEM ARE THE CONSEQUENCES OF YOUR OWN ACTIONS, but haven’t you ever thought what did I do to deserve this? Sometimes things just happen! This epiphany came to me when I was reading a Bible Study Plan called Grieving Well. The verse that popped up said:

“The Lord our God has secrets known to no one. We are not accountable for them, but we and our children are accountable forever for all that he has revealed to us, so that we may obey all the terms of these instructions.” -Deuteronomy 29:29

This stopped me from spiraling out of control to try and figure life out. That sometimes to just be content with where you are on your journey is enough. You don’t always have to be striving to be the best, the strongest, the greatest, the whatever. YOU ARE ENOUGH.

Now obviously evaluate your choices in life. Make sure you are communicating with God on a daily basis to ensure you’re on the narrow path He has for you. Each path is unique, so be quick to catch yourself when the comparison overwhelms you.

If you can’t catch a break, YOU ARE NOT THE PROBLEM.

If those people can’t get his stuff together, YOU ARE NOT THE PROBLEM.

If you haven’t been able to drop the weight that easily, YOU ARE NOT THE PROBLEM.

If they slander your name and lie of your actions, YOU ARE NOT THE PROBLEM.

If you feel burnt out, YOU ARE NOT THE PROBLEM.

The path is.

You were beautifully and wonderfully made me The Lord Jesus Christ and He created you for a purpose. If every corner you turn to seems to grind you down and doesn’t seem to fit, it’s probably true!

THE PATH IS NARROW.

“But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.”

Remember that. You’ve come to so far, you’ve worked so hard, and you’ve been through so much that there really isn’t a choice for you to give up. This path is the ONLY path God has for you, so keep fighting.

Love,

B
